The island of Sal is one of the most popular destinations in Cape Verde, known for its white sand beaches and crystal clear waters. In addition to the stunning beaches, the island is famous for the production of sea salt, which can be exploited in its salt pans. The town of Santa Maria is the main tourist spot, with its colorful streets, local restaurants, artisan shops and a lively atmosphere. Sal is a true paradise for sun and sea lovers. With white sand beaches and turquoise waters, such as the famous Praia de Santa Maria, this island offers breathtaking scenery. Itinerary for 7 days in Sal:

Day 1: Arrival on the island of Sal and transfer to the hotel. Spend the rest of the day relaxing on the beach and enjoying the sunny weather.

Day 2: Boat trip along the coast of Sal, where you can snorkel and explore the colorful marine life. Also visit Olho Azul, an underground rock formation that creates a natural pool of crystal clear water.

Day 3: Explore the sand dunes of Sal. Take a buggy ride through the deserted landscapes and slide down the dunes. Be sure to visit the fishing village of Santa Maria and try the local cuisine.

Day 4: Visit Pedra de Lume, an old salt mine that is now a natural saltwater pool. Enjoy floating and relaxing in the therapeutic salt waters. In the afternoon, take a tour of the salt flats and learn about salt production in Sal.

 

Day 5: Catamaran ride around the island. Cruise along the coast, stop to swim and snorkel at secluded beaches, and enjoy a delicious lunch on board.

Day 6: Explore the town of Espargos, the capital of Sal. Visit the local market and experience Cape Verdean culture. In the afternoon, enjoy more time at the beach or try water activities such as kitesurfing or windsurfing.

Day 7: Sal farewell day. Enjoy your last few hours on the island relaxing on the beach or shopping for souvenirs before departing for the airport.

Island of Boa Vista 

Boa Vista is an island located east of Sal and is known for its unspoiled natural beauty. With its extensive beaches of golden sand, crystalline waters and deserted landscapes, Boa Vista attracts visitors in search of tranquility and contact with nature. The island is home to stunning beaches, such as Praia de Santa Mónica, considered one of the most beautiful in the archipelago. Furthermore, Boa Vista has a charming atmosphere, especially in the town of Sal Rei, where you can find vibrant markets, historic churches and a variety of restaurants offering traditional Cape Verdean dishes

 

 Itinerary for 7 days in Boa Vista:

Day 1: Arrival on the island of Boa Vista and transfer to the hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day to rest and relax on the beach.

Day 2: Take a buggy ride through the dunes of Boa Vista. Discover deserted landscapes and secluded beaches, such as Praia de Santa Mónica, known for its white sands and crystal clear waters.

Day 3: Boat trip to the deserted island of Ilhéu de Sal Rei. Swim in turquoise waters, snorkel over coral reefs and enjoy a beach picnic.

Day 4: Visit the city of Sal Rei, the capital of  Boa Vista. Explore the local market, where you’ll find handicrafts and products typical of the region. Be sure to visit the Church of Santa Isabel, one of the city’s main landmarks.

Day 5: Take a jeep tour through the interior of Boa Vista. Discover traditional villages, such as Rabil and Povoação Velha, and enjoy stunning natural landscapes, such as the Viana Desert.

Day 6: Relax on the beaches of Boa Vista. Enjoy the sun and sea, take long walks along the beach and try water sports such as scuba diving or stand-up paddle.

Day 7: Farewell to Boa Vista. Enjoy your last few hours on the island to shop for souvenirs or relax on the beach before heading to the airportV
