Day 1
Arrival and Sal Rei Exploration
Arrive at Aristides Pereira International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Sal Rei.
Explore the charming town of Sal Rei. Visit the local market for handicrafts and souvenirs, and stroll
around the main square to get a feel for the local atmosphere. Have dinner at a local restaurant. Try
traditional Cape Verdean dishes such as Cachupa (a hearty stew) and fresh seafood while enjoying
the seaside ambiance.
Day 2
Beach Day and Turtle Watching
Spend the morning at Praia de Chaves. Relax on the pristine white sands, swim in the crystal-clear
waters, and take in the scenic views. Engage in water sports like windsurfing or snorkeling. There are
several rental shops and schools offering lessons and equipment. Join a guided tour to see
loggerhead turtles nesting on the beach (available from June to September). Witness this incredible
natural phenomenon and learn about turtle conservation efforts.
Day 3
Desert Adventure and Shipwreck
Visit the Viana Desert. Explore the stunning sand dunes, perfect for photography, and experience
the unique desert landscape of Boa Vista. Travel to the north coast to see the Cabo Santa Maria
shipwreck. This iconic landmark offers a dramatic photo opportunity and a glimpse into the island's
maritime history. Return to Sal Rei for dinner. Enjoy fresh seafood at one of the local restaurants
while watching the sunset over the ocean.
Day 4
Northern Beaches and Rural Villages
Head to Praia de Atalanta. Enjoy the serene environment, ideal for a peaceful beach day away from
the crowds. Visit the rural villages of Fundo das Figueiras and João Galego. Experience local culture,
interact with friendly villagers, and perhaps buy handmade crafts as souvenirs.
Return to Sal Rei. Have dinner at a restaurant featuring live Cape Verdean music for an authentic
cultural experience.
Day 5
Quad Biking and Whale Watching
Take a quad biking tour. Explore the diverse landscapes of Boa Vista, including hidden beaches,
rugged terrain, and scenic viewpoints. If visiting between March and May, embark on a whale-
watching tour. Spot humpback whales in their natural habitat and learn about their migration
patterns.
Relax in Sal Rei. Visit a local café or bar to enjoy some local music and meet other travelers.
Day 6
Day Trip to the South
Travel to Praia de Santa Monica. Known for its stunning beauty and tranquility, this beach is perfect
for a relaxing day with less tourist activity.
Explore Varandinha Beach. Famous for its caves and dramatic cliffs, it’s a great spot for adventurous
exploration and beautiful photography. Return to Sal Rei. Reflect on the day’s adventures over a
leisurely dinner at one of the town’s restaurants.
Day 7
Relaxation and Departure
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your hotel. Spend your last morning relaxing on the beach or doing
some last-minute shopping for souvenirs in Sal Rei. Prepare for departure. Depending on your flight
time, you might have a bit more time to explore or simply relax at your hotel. Transfer to Aristides
Pereira International Airport for your flight home. Say goodbye to Boa Vista with memories of a
beautiful and diverse island adventure.
