Island tour – Santiago
Explore the highlights of Santiago on this full-day tour. Enjoy a typical breakfast with a local family,
visit the Assomada market and follow the Serra Malagueta. Then we continue to Cidade Velha, it is
the first city built by Europeans in the tropics and the first capital of the Cape Verde archipelago. It
was originally called Ribeira Grande, changing its name to avoid ambiguity with the homonymous
village. Lunch in a local restaurant , return to the hotel in the afternoon.
Day 3
Visit Tarrafal
A visit to Tarrafal, in Santiago, is a unique experience that combines history, natural beauty and
culture. Located in the northwest part of the island of Santiago, Tarrafal is known as much for its
historic past as its stunning beaches and tropical climate.
We will visit the former concentration camp, which was used during the Portuguese colonial period
to detain political prisoners. Today, the site has been transformed into a memorial museum that
offers visitors an exciting and educational insight into this dark period in Cape Verde.

Flight to Sao Vicente

Day 5
Island tour – Sao Vicente
Discover the city of Mindelo, with its beautiful colonial houses, and visit our vegetable and fish
market, then we continue towards Monte Verde to climb to the highest peak of São Vicente at
779m. Discover all the landscapes of São Vicente with the beautiful beaches and dormant volcanoes.
Towards a great adventure. Lunch in a restaurant in Calhau. Do not forget to bring your swimsuit.
Transfer to the hotel after the excursion.
Day 6
São Vicente-Santo Antão -Tarrafal de Monte Trigo
Boat crossing from Sao Vicente to Santo Antão. After an hour of navigation, we arrive in Porto Novo.
We reach the village of Tarrafal (south-west) 2h driving. We will discover its calm waters and its
superb black sand beach.2 nights. Lunch in a local restaurant.
Day 7
Tarrafal -Monte Trigo
Today we are leaving for a superb coastal hike to reach Monte Trigo , a small paradisiacal village still
isolated from the rest of the island and protected from the trade winds by the Topo de Coroa the
highest Point of Santo Antão( 1979m). And return to Tarrafal for a second night by fishing boat 40mn
NOTE: if the sea is rough, the return will be on foot or in a total of 8 hours of walking. Because your

Aguas das Caldeiras – Ribeira da Torre
From your hotel we will drive you to the starting point of this beautiful hike.Crossing the village of
Agua das caldeiras an agriculture Village and then the green valley of Ribeira da Torre , in the middle
of yam fields, bananas plantation , sugar cane, papaya and then we descend to Ribeira de Lombo to
reach the village of Xoxo where we will get the lunch. Lunch in a local restaurant.

Valley of Paúl from the inside /Return to São Vicente in the afternoon
Our last hike takes us to a very green valley in the middle of yam fields, among potatoes, yams,
sweet potatoes, papaia and other vegetables and fruits, as a starting point of the famous hike, over
600m, a magnificent hike. with many sugar cane terraces and of course the possibility to taste the
local grogue and the punch. We share a typical meal and a typical restaurant
At the end of the afternoon, crossing by boat from Porto Novo to Mindelo.
